Ideal Match - Jakarta would love a rider who enjoys both ring work and exploring things outside of the arena. He is safe enough for a beginner, but has the talent for a more experienced rider to enjoy. He is young, so we think he would benefit working with a trainer from time to time to continue his education if purchased by a timid or inexperienced rider. However, for a family or trail horse, he is ready to go with any level rider.

Jakarta is a 5 year old Friesian x Spotted Draft gelding standing 16.1 hands high. Jack is pretty as a picture, safe, forgiving, and talented across the board. From dressage, eventing, hunting, or simply hitting the trails, you can’t go wrong with Jack! He is the easiest of keepers, requires no maintenance, and is always quiet and reliable. This guy has the looks for the show ring and the brains to be a trusted family horse for years to come!

In the ring, Jack is in a dressage based program and schooling first level tests. He is also ridden by the children and guests, he is safe for any rider and can take a joke. For his breeding, he is very comfortable, though he does have a good amount of suspension to his stride! He will go in a frame or on the buckle, knows basic lateral work, and has great brakes. Jakarta is mannerly and always willing to learn, his attitude is unbeatable.

Out of the ring, Jakarta has most of his miles and experience. He loves to go cross country schooling, he is brave and honest over all the jumps and obstacles we have pointed him at. He loves hunter paces, and we think he would make a fabulous fox hunting mount! Jack will ride alone or in a group, crosses all obstacles, swims, and is safe in traffic and on the road.

In the barn, Jack is a family favorite. He is a big silly puppy dog, while still being polite and gentle. He is handled by all of our children and their friends, and can usually be found in the crossties getting “makeovers” by the girls. He stands to be clipped, bathed, and tacked. Jack is easy to catch, easy to load and trailer, and is overall a pleasure to have in the barn.


Jakarta is available to be tried at our farm in Clover, SC by appointment.
