Ideal Match - Dakar is forward thinking, while still being safe and simple. We think he would enjoy a dressage or eventing type of job,  though he is just as happy hitting the trails too!

Dakar is a 6 year old Friesian x Quarter Horse gelding standing 16 hands high. Dakar is a fun, simple, and straightforward horse for someone who wants to do a bit of everything. He is well broke on the flat, and would excel with a dressage job. He has been started over fences as well, he has been honest and brave, and he jumps with great form. Dakar has gone on many hunter paces, camping trips, and would make up to be a great hunt horse. He has a good mind and sensible nature. He is an overall good citizen that can be successful in almost any direction. 

In the ring, Dakar has three great gaits. He naturally carries himself round, and will go on the bit or a loos rein. His gaits are comfortable and easy to adjust. He has dressage horse written all over him! Dakar has great brakes and listens well to voice commands. He knows his lateral work, and is schooling flying changes. Dakar is more forward thinking, but will never go faster than you ask. There's enough horse under you to do any job, yet he is still quiet and forgiving enough for a novice rider too. Dakar has been started over small jumps in the ring and has plenty of scope! 

On the trails, Dakar is brave and fun. He can keep up with even the most experienced trail horses, and will trek around all day long. He is good crossing water, logs, ditches, and roads. He will lead the group, ride alone, or take up the rear. Dakar enjoys being out of the ring, and is great to hack around the farm or take on hunter paces. He has the right brain and athleticism to make into a hunt horse as well. 

In the barn, Dakar is the best! He is handled by the kids here at the farm, and is a gentleman in every way. He stands tied, crossties, and tied to the trailer. He is perfectly behaved to be clipped and bathed, and loves to be groomed and given attention. Dakar is used to kids, dogs, and machinery around him in the barn. We have no complaints about his ground manners and sweet, yet polite, attitude. 

Dakar is equal parts athlete and amateur friendly. He is ready to hit the show ring, trails, or hunt field!  

Dakar is available to be tried at our farm in Clover, SC by appointment.

All horses are considered available and will continue to be shown and advertised unless we have received a deposit. An appointment to see a horse will not hold them for you. Deposits are $1000 via PayPal and are NOT refundable for any reason. Many horses have a waitlist of interested clients, so in fairness to everyone, this is a set policy.
