Louisville is a 5 year old Percheron x Quarter Horse gelding standing 16.1 hands high. He is the complete package, having the talent, brains, and looks. He is safe and forgiving for an amateur rider, yet has a solid foundation and upper level potential that any professional, or amateur with upper level aspirations, would love. He is kind, with the most lovable personality. He is brave, and will confidently trail ride anywhere you point him. Louisville is ideal for the rider who wants to enjoy a talented horse that can horse show or hunt one day, trail ride with the husband the next, and have a reliable partner in any situation.  

 

In the ring, Louie is one of the most fun horses we have in the barn. He effortlessly performs any kind of lateral work you ask, he is pliable and smooth with a very correct way about him. He would excel in working equitation, or any kind of dressage work. He side passes, backs, spins, stops, and goes round in the bridle with ease. He picks up both leads, has offered flying changes, and listens well to seat, leg, and hand cues. Louie loves to please. He is the type of partner who will always give his rider 110%. He is forward thinking, but not hot. He has the ideal motor for dressage or eventing type of riding. He has it there when asked, but is not overpowering or intimidating to his rider. He is broke well to voice commands, neck reins, and will go both English and western. Louie has been putting courses together in the ring, and has the scope for 3’+. He is BRAVE over fences and though he is green over courses, as most of his jumping mileage is cross country and in hunt country, he will never be dishonest. He always gets you to the other side and will have loads of scope as he matures.  

 

On the trails and off property, Louisville is easy to get along with and happy to explore. He rides alone, in a group, and is happy to lead the way or follow along. We have taken him on many off property rides, hunter paces, and to go schooling at other farms. He gets off the trailer and goes to work with no funny business. He is safe in water, heavy traffic, around ATVs, gunfire, smoke, fire, and with all other wildlife. He pops over logs, coupes, ditches, and jumps in and out of the water. We have worked Louie around our hunting dogs in various terrain, so a transition to fox hunting would be an easy one for him! He loads right up in the trailer, stands tied in and to the trailer, and is a good boy both on and off property. 

 

In the barn, Louisville is a gentle soul. He can be handled by the smallest of our children and is always well behaved and kind. He’s the type of horse that would prefer to live in your house with you if you’d let him, he just loves people! He’s the first to the gate in the field, and is easy to catch. He gets along well with anyone we turn him out with, and is just as happy when stalled. He has no vices or bad habits and is an easy keeper. Louie clips, bathes, stands tied, and is polite and well behaved in the barn and under saddle.

Louisville is available to be tried at our farm in Clover, SC by appointment. Appointments to meet and try horses can be made starting anytime after the Full Video is listed on our page. Vet and ship, and sight-unseen sales are welcome at any point once the horse is listed on our site.

​Due to the increasing popularity of our horses, we can only hold a horse if a deposit is placed. All horses are considered available and will continue to be shown and advertised unless we have received a deposit. An appointment to see a horse will not hold them for you. Deposits are $1000 via PayPal and are NOT refundable for any reason. A deposit holds a horse for 5 days. Many horses have a waitlist of interested clients, so in fairness to everyone, this is a set policy.
