Salamander is a 4 year old Quarter Horse gelding standing 15 hands high. He is the perfect mix of easy and safe, with the talent and movement for any show ring. He is quiet enough for the kids to trot around or trail ride on, gentle for anyone to handle, and fun for any level rider. Sal is point and shoot, brave as they come, and just downright enjoyable to ride and be around. We have nothing but good things to say about this horse. He is truly a good egg with the best brain. You would think he was 15, not 4. He is simply a winner all around!
In the ring, Salamander is a simple ride. He has three comfortable gaits, has offered changes, and jumps around a small course. He has a rock solid foundation and knows his lateral work, how to ride in a frame, or stretched out on the buckle. He neck reins, backs, stops off seat and voice command, and listens well to the leg. We have had young kids, beginners, and guests on him and he takes care of them all. Over fences, Sal is a natural. He’s brave, honest, and doesn’t mind helping out if the distance isn’t right. He is a schoolmaster in the making.
Off property, Sal is the same as he is at home. He’s quiet and a change in environment doesn’t shake him up. He has been hauled off property for schooling, trail rides, and camping trips. On the trails, he is happy riding alone or in a group. He will lead, follow, or take up the rear without question. He crosses water, is traffic safe, and will cross any obstacle. Load him up and go anywhere safely!
In the barn, Salamander is gentle and sweet. He really loves his humans and will be the first to the gate to greet you. He will stand all day to be groomed and loved on. He’s a good boy for clipping, bathing, and being tied. He’s used to the kids running up to and around him, goats jumping off things, loose cows, or any other craziness he comes across. He is the same horse if ridden every day, or once a week.

Salamander is a well rounded, versatile, young horse with a bright future ahead. No matter which direction you wish to take him, he will be successful. He has the ability for the show ring, the brain for the hunt field, and the personality of a family horse. You can’t beat a brain like his.
