Santa Cruz is a 6 year old Friesian x Percheron gelding standing 16.2 hands high. Cruz has something for every rider to enjoy. He has the movement to easily go up the levels as a dressage horse, the foundation to event, and the brain and quiet nature to be a trail horse for yourself or the husband. A rider with upper level aspirations would enjoy him just as much as someone who just wants a safe and sturdy trail horse would. Santa Cruz is an easy keeper, easy to love, and safe to ride.

 

In the ring, Santa Cruz has three quality gaits that will make anyone drool. He has great brakes, and listens well to seat and voice cues. Cruz will ride on the bit or on a loose rein, and is quickly getting a hang of basic lateral work and first level tests. He picks up both leads, and has offered flying changes! Cruz will be safe and easy for anyone to bring along and up the levels, and is forgiving and steady for any level rider as he is now. We have started Cruz over fences in the ring and out. He is brave and honest, and has been super fun to pop over logs, coupes, and walls in the field.

 

On the trails and off property, Santa Cruz is a barn favorite. He can be trusted for anyone to take on a trail ride. Traffic, ATVs, deer, and cows are of no concern to Cruz. He is happy leading the way, or following along in the group. He enjoys hunter paces, trail rides, or going off property to do a ride with new people and horses. We have hauled him out to various other farms to do lessons and schooling, he calmly comes off the trailer and gets right to work.

 

In the barn, Santa Cruz is a delight. If you want a horse with personality, look no further. He is the ultimate silly goose, love-bug, of a horse. He’s in your pocket, and would love to follow you home and live in your house. He is a good boy for all of the usual barn activities like grooming, tacking, and bathing. He stands to clip, is easy to load, trailers well, and is well behaved for the vet and farrier.

​Due to the increasing popularity of our horses, we can only hold a horse if a deposit is placed. All horses are considered available and will continue to be shown and advertised unless we have received a deposit. An appointment to see a horse will not hold them for you. Deposits are $1000 via PayPal and are NOT refundable for any reason. A deposit holds a horse for 5 days. Many horses have a waitlist of interested clients, so in fairness to everyone, this is a set policy.
