Dixie - SOLD

Dixie is a 12 year old Paint mare standing a stocky 15.1 hands high. If we could clone this mare a thousand times, we would! She is a packer in every sense, safe, sensible, and the same horse in any situation. Dixie jumps around a 2"6 course, goes cross country, trail rides, and is the perfect local showing or 4H mount. She can do the lesson horse job, pack the kids and adults around at a show, or be a safe and steady family horse. She is tolerant of timid and nervous riders, can take a joke, and is the same ride for a pro as she is for the kids. She is a true load up and go, no prep, no funny business, fun and easygoing ride. She can sit for weeks, or ride every day. We cannot stress enough how wonderful she is! Dixie is not mare-ish, an easy keeper, and has not put a foot wrong. 

In the ring, Dixie speaks for herself. Simply put, if you can't ride this horse, you probably shouldn't ride at all. She has three easy to ride gaits, perfect transitions, and picks up both leads easily. She knows her job and loves to be a teacher and confidence builder. She is brave, honest, and educated on the flat and over fences. She will jump anything you put in front of her, and finds her own distance. Dixie is gentle and steady with the little ones, while still being fun for the more advanced rider.  

On the trails and off property, Dixie is a dream. Pull her from the pasture, load her up, and go on your adventure. She is the same horse in any situation and does not need any kind of prep. We have taken her off property, to local shows, and to all sorts of trails and she is the same as she is going around the arena. You can ride her through the drive thru, into town, or on a stroll around the farm. On the trails, Dixie will lead, follow, or go alone. She is nothing short of a trail master! The kids, beginners, and the husband can all trail ride her safely. She crosses any and all obstacles, and loves being out and about. 

In the barn, Dixie is well behaved and polite. She enjoys all of the attention and love from the kids and is a goo girl for all the usual barn tasks. Dixie clips, ties, bathes, loads, and is good for the vet and farrier. She is currently living in during the day and out at night, and goes out in a herd of mares and geldings. She gets along with everyone, and is not mare-ish in any way.  

Dixie is available to be tried at our farm in Clover, SC by appointment.

​Due to the increasing popularity of our horses, we can only hold a horse if a deposit is placed. All horses are considered available and will continue to be shown and advertised unless we have received a deposit. An appointment to see a horse will not hold them for you. Deposits are $1000 via PayPal and are NOT refundable for any reason. Many horses have a waitlist of interested clients, so in fairness to everyone, this is a set policy.
