🐴 BRIGGS – Talent, Temperament, and True Peace of Mind
Briggs is a 6-year-old gelding standing a solid 16.1 hands high — striking, balanced, and built to do just about anything you ask of him.
But what truly separates Briggs isn’t just his talent.
It’s how safe and steady he feels while doing it.
Because if you’ve been around horses long enough, you know the biggest fear isn’t trying something new.
It’s wondering if the horse underneath you is going to stay with you.
What if he gets strong?
What if he feeds off the atmosphere?
What if he’s too much for the kids?
What if I don’t bounce like I used to?
Briggs quiets those worries.
He has a solid western foundation that gives him real brakes, real balance, and real understanding of seat and leg. He knows his job, and he listens.
In the ring, he is soft, comfortable, and beautifully adjustable. His canter is the kind you could lope all day — balanced, smooth, and effortless. He will happily walk-trot with the kids, ride around on a loose rein, or step up and school dressage and working equitation patterns with a more experienced rider.
He is light in the bridle, naturally round, and rides happily in a simple snaffle. His transitions are smooth, his gaits are comfortable, and yes — he has a great big western stop when you sit down and ask.
Not rushed.
Not braced.
Balanced and correct.
For riders who worry about control, Briggs offers reassurance.
For riders who worry about comfort, Briggs delivers it.
And for families wondering if one horse can truly do it all — Briggs proves that it can.
On the trails and away from home, he remains the same steady partner. He rides alone or in a group and is comfortable anywhere in the pack. Water crossings, swimming, traffic, dogs, hounds, ATVs, cattle, deer — he has seen it and handles it without drama.
He does not look for reasons to react.
He does not escalate energy.
He gives his rider time.
He pops over logs and natural obstacles with confidence and enjoys the cross-country field, yet never feels overwhelming or sharp.
And in the barn?
He is the kind that makes you smile before you even pick up a halter.
Sweet. Kind. A true puppy-dog personality. He can be handled, groomed, bathed, and brought in and out by children. He respects his size and is as content turned out 24/7 as he is in a stall.
Perhaps the biggest unspoken fear families carry is this:
“What if he’s different once he gets home?”
Briggs is consistent. He rides the same day after day. He doesn’t need a perfect program to stay steady. His mindset is what makes him special.
He is not a confidence tester.
He is a confidence builder.
Whether you want a best friend, a show partner, a hunting companion, a family horse — or truly all of the above — Briggs offers something more valuable than versatility alone.
He offers peace of mind.
And peace of mind is what keeps riders of every age enjoying the saddle for years to come.
*All horses at CSH enjoy 24/7 turnout with a mixed herd when not in training. Training weeks they spend 3 days inside for work and 3 days off to relax. We do not feed grain but the horses to have 24/7 access to premium western alfalfa. All horses are up to date with vaccinations and worming. They are all on a 6 week farrier rotation as well and some are shod due to our rocky trails. We only train in a loose ring snaffle in western tack and a loose ring, French link or full cheek snaffle in English. Feel free to call or text me with any questions about horse care or training.*
