A Rojo Valentine “Rojo” is a 5 year old AQHA gelding standing 16 hands high. Rojo is the most versatile horse to come through our barn. He is sensible, quiet, and talented enough to do ANY job. He is educated and well broke English and western. He is a brave and honest jumper, loves to go cross country, and is schooling first level dressage tests with ease! To top it off, Rojo is a trail master that is safe enough for any rider. He was a pickup horse for the Frontier Rodeo Company and traveled all over to work the Rodeos. If you don’t know what a pickup horse is, take the time to enjoy watching some videos of this on YouTube so you can see the type of brain this horse has. It takes a special type of horse to not only do that job, but then to seamlessly transition into the eventing/dressage world like he’s done it his whole life. Rojo is the type of guy that can be a show horse, a trail horse for the husband, ride western, go hunt, and do it all well. There probably isn’t another horse like him on the planet!  

 

In the ring, Rojo has it all. He is a simple and enjoyable ride. He is young, but so well broke you’d think you were on an older schoolmaster. Rojo has three quality and easy to sit gaits and picks up both leads. Ride him English and enjoy his adjustable gaits, lateral work, and pop around a course of jumps. Ride him western and try some spins, sliding stops, neck rein around, or bridleless work. This guy will be very simple to bring up the levels in the dressage ring, and is so forgiving and quiet that anyone can safely enjoy him. There is not a single bad thing to say about the way this guy rides. He is comfortable, steady, forgiving, and just downright a joy to ride.

 

Off property and outside of the arena, Rojo is experienced and safe. Coming from a rodeo company, Rojo is used to loud noises, cattle, heavy equipment, bright lights, and chaotic environments. We have taken him out to clinics, xc schooling, camping trips, hunter paces, and trail rides. On the trails, Rojo is confident and quiet. You can ride him on a loose rein, or halter and lead rope. He will lead, follow, ride alone, or pony another horse. He crosses water, logs, roads, and anything else you may come across. On the cross country course Rojo rides like an old pro. He is solid and brave about all of the jumps, hops right into the water, and is always ready to help his rider find a distance and give some confidence. I said it once, and I’ll say it again, this guy is 5 but rides like he’s 15. He steps right off the trailer ready to do any job that is asked of him. 

 

In the barn, Rojo is easy as can be. He is the same horse whether he lives in or out, and is happy in a mixed herd of mares and geldings. He is a good boy for all of the usual barn activities, and is a barn favorite. Rojo is easy to catch and loves his people. He is polite with great ground manners and can easily be handled by the children.  

 

Rojo is a once in a lifetime horse. There are very few, if any, horses out there that are as skilled as this guy is across the board. He is safe for kids, husbands, and guests; while being educated and talented for riders looking to head to the show ring.

​Due to the increasing popularity of our horses, we can only hold a horse if a deposit is placed. All horses are considered available and will continue to be shown and advertised unless we have received a deposit. An appointment to see a horse will not hold them for you. Deposits are $1000 via PayPal and are NOT refundable for any reason. Many horses have a waitlist of interested clients, so in fairness to everyone, this is a set policy.
