🐴 SKIPPER – Ranch Roots, English Elegance, Confidence Built In
Skipper is a 5-year-old AQHA registered Quarter Horse with a highly desirable dark gray coat that turns heads wherever he goes.
But what truly sets him apart isn’t the color.
It’s the way he makes a rider feel.
Because if you’re a timid rider — or someone rebuilding confidence — you already know the fears that creep in:
What if he’s too young and too fresh?
What if he gets quick off property?
What if he feeds off other horses?
What if I don’t have the stop when I need it?
Skipper was built differently.
Though only five, he carries himself with maturity beyond his years. He has a solid western foundation and rides one-handed with a balanced, dependable stop. He listens first, reacts second.
And under English tack?
He moves beautifully.
He has a lovely, rhythmic way of going that makes him enjoyable and uncomplicated to ride. He is soft in the bridle, steady in his transitions, and does not rush or anticipate.
For riders who fear unpredictability — Skipper offers consistency.
For riders who fear losing control — Skipper offers brakes.
For riders who fear embarrassment or nerves off property — Skipper genuinely enjoys going places.
He has experience in hunter paces and local shows, and he thrives in new environments. He does not tighten up. He does not become reactive. He handles activity with the same calm mindset he shows at home.
He stands to mount.
He waits for direction.
He walks off relaxed.
And perhaps most importantly — he rides the same day after day.
For the rider who wants to grow…
Who wants to trail ride with confidence…
Who wants to enjoy local shows without anxiety…
Skipper offers something far more valuable than flash.
He offers reassurance.
And reassurance is what keeps timid riders enjoying the saddle instead of second-guessing it.
*All horses at CSH enjoy 24/7 turnout with a mixed herd when not in training. Training weeks they spend 3 days inside for work and 3 days off to relax. We do not feed grain but the horses to have 24/7 access to premium western alfalfa. All horses are up to date with vaccinations and worming. They are all on a 6 week farrier rotation as well and some are shod due to our rocky trails. We only train in a loose ring snaffle in western tack and a loose ring, French link or full cheek snaffle in English. Feel free to call or text me with any questions about horse care or training.*
